Samsung became the most copied smartphone brand throughout the year 2017

The benchmark company AnTuTu released an interesting statistic compiled during 2017. AnTuTu combed all of the devices that tested its benchmark services, from January to December, and concluded 2.64 percent of all tested phones were fake or counterfeit.

In the statistical reports, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge became the easiest device to imitate. Even in the first rank list of the most widely imitated device is the EU version of the Galaxy S7 Edge, while the second rank is occupied by the Chinese version of this smartphone.


The regular version of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge EU version occupies the third and the Samsung W2106 mobile phone is ranked fourth. The first and only iPhone to enter into the top 10 of this list is the iPhone 7 Plus, ranked fifth.

Most copied smartphones 2017

According to AnTuTu statistics, Samsung branded phones are the most frequently cloned devices. This is driven by several reasons, including the ease of making copies of Android-powered devices with similar features to popular mobile phones.

Doing iOS interface coding on the Android operating system is possible, but this does not last long. After opening the App Store, or navigating the Settings menu, users will find Android device indicator mark.

AnTuTu also mentioned, consumers who buy this phone will not install and run the AnTuTu benchmark on the device. Not a few owners of certain artificial devices and run a number of benchmarks to find out the results.
