Apple announced the promotion of Oliver Schusser as Vice President of Apple Music & International Content and will report directly to Apple's Senior Vice President of Internet Software and Services who positions Eddy Cue.
 
Schusser plays an important role in the acquisition of Shazam and is part of the development of App Store, iTunes, iBooks and more. The promotion also reportedly required Schusser to move from London to California.
 
In addition to the announcement of the new leadership, Apple also announced now Apple Music has had as many as 40 million paid subscribers in 115 countries.

In a previous counting released one month ago, Apple announced its paying subscriber for a streaming music service of 38 million, an increase of 2 million subscribers or 5.2 percent in the February to March period.

The number of paid subscribers from March to April also increased by 2 million subscribers, or by 5.3 percent.
 
The growth rate this month, by five percent, exceeded Spotify's growth in the same period by two percent.

Previously Spotify, which had become a public company earlier this month, announced that it has had as many as 70 paid subscribers as well.
