Sony Successfully Sell 50 Million PlayStation 4

After passing the 40 million sales in May, Sony has now sold 50 million PlayStation 4. That figure includes PS4, PS4 Pro, and the new slim version of the console. That figure shows sales to customers, instead of shipping to stores.

50 million milestone was reached Sony in just over three years. For comparison, the PlayStation 3 has sold over 4.5 years before Sony sold the same amount.

Sales of the software is also quite strong. Sony said that, on December 4, 2016, the company sold 369.6 million games. That means that about seven games have been purchased for every one console.Because the announcement Sony only give figures for the group of console sales, it is impossible to know exactly how many of the 10 million PS4 sold since May is the issue of "Pro".

Similarly, there are no figures that really sure for the sale of PlayStation VR. The headset was out in October, and the then President of SCEE Jim Ryan said at the launch of sales is expected to reach "hundreds of thousands".

Superdata analysis company projected total sales of the headset in 2016 will be less than 750 thousand.

While Microsoft stopped reporting sales figures some time ago. The launch of Xbox One S has revitalized sales, so the Xbox One beat Sony's console for several months in a row this year.
Estimated third parties indicate that Microsoft has been selling between 25-30 million Xbox One, making Sony led the sale of two to one.
