HTC Smartphone Business of the Year is More Worrisome

The presence of HTC U Ultra and HTC U Play in this year was not enough powerful to improve the financial performance of this Taiwanese company. This is evident from the consolidated financial statements in April showing a downward trend.

Reporting from GSMArena, HTC released monthly consolidated revenue for April 2017 of NT $ 4.71 billion (US $ 155 million). This achievement is lower by 9.29 percent compared to the achievement in March. In addition the report showed a decrease of 18.03 percent from a year earlier.

HTC's total revenue for the first four months of 2017 was NT $ 19.24 billion or US $ 635 million, down 6.45 percent compared to January-April 2016 revenue of NT $ 20.57 billion (about US $ 676 million).

Chances are, sluggish sales of HTC U Ultra and U Play because HTC fans prefer to wait for other HTC latest smartphone, the HTC U 11 which will be released on 16 May. This smartphone is rumored to be present with Snapdragon 835 processor and touch sensitive frame with Edge Sense feature.

If later HTC U 11 can not also boost corporate earnings because of less interest, then the HTC should be more vigilant. The raid of various brands of slowly but surely destroyed and destroyed HTC from the smartphone industry.
