Google's latest operating system, the Android 8.0 Oreo equipped with three major changes to the notification feature. Claimed to deliver a better usage experience when compared with Android 7.0 Nougat.

Android Authority reports that the first major changes presented in the notification feature are in better notification shadow handling capabilities, with the ability to perform more actions.

The second change is visible at the point of notification while the third change is the presence of additional notification channels, the unity of the system that is claimed to be able to assist device users in managing notifications.

On Android O shading notifications are equipped with a number of improvements as well as a new visual appearance, while on the visual side, media control also comes with color changes.

Previously the media control on the notification shade was shown in the form of an album cover image.

However, the background of media control can change color, adjusting to the color nuance that the album artwork carries. The colors will also disappear slowly and then display the album's artwork on media control.

In addition, rubbing the partial side notifications will display a number of options to enable silent mode for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, an hour, or two hours.

Tapping on one of these options will make the notification silent and will not interrupt the user during the selected time.

The partial wiping will also bring access to notification settings for a number of apps with silent notification options. And the ability to configure other behaviors such as activating the notification point.
