New Samsung LTE Modem Can Download HD Movies in 10 Seconds

Samsung LTE Modem
Samsung is preparing a new LTE modem with 1.2 Gbps download speed or the equivalent of downloading an HD quality movie within 10 seconds, as reported by GSMArena.
Samsung's new LTE modem is an upgrade from the 8895 modem, and will come with Cat.18 6CA (carrier aggregation) technology with increased speed than ever before.

In March, Samsung has introduced its new chipset, Exynos 8895. The new chip is the answer to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 which is the first modem to support 1 Gbps speed.

The South Korean manufacturer said it is working closely with Anritsu, Japan's leading provider of telecommunications measuring devices to achieve such impressive results. This is a 20 percent increase in download speed which in theory will allow you to download HD movies in 10 seconds.

Carrier aggregation (CA) combines a number of carrier components with different bandwidths, which increases data transfer rates and network performance. With enhanced aggregation capabilities, Samsung's new modem will also offer more stable data transfers, not just faster.
According to Samsung, the new technology will be mass produced by the end of this year. It remains unclear whether Cat.18 modem will be present along with the Galaxy Note 8, which will be announced on August 23rd.
