Spotify Raise Xbox One

Spotify plans to release an app for Xbox One. Larry Hryb also known as Major Nelson from Microsoft is testing Spotify for Xbox One on the internet forum Reddit this week.

This reinforces speculation that Spotify will indeed release official applications for Xbox. Aresource person who knows about Spotify plans and Microsoft tells The Verge that Spotify's app for Xbox One will be launched in the near future. Now, the app is being tested internally.

In June, the Spotify app appeared in the Windows Store. The app appears as a desktop version for Windows 10 devices and not as a Universal Windows App that will also work on Xbox One.

The existence of Spotify app for Xbox means that the users of Microsoft's console will be able to access the streaming music service through their console. Two years ago Spotify has rolled out apps on Sony's PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.

In addition to the Spotify app, Microsoft also plans to add new features to Xbox One in the next few months before introducing a new console, the Xbox One X.
