Amazon make sure the Lord of the Rings TV series

The Lord of the Rings
Amazon will make the TV series from Lord of the Rings. Last week, news surfaced that Amazon Studios was considering buying the rights to Lord of the Rings. Now, they confirm the news. They plan to make the novel series made by J.R.R Tolkien into a TV series.
This TV series will take the time before the movie The Fellowship of the Ring. The film that aired in 2001 was the first film of the Lord of the Rings trilogy directed by Peter Jackson. Amazon said they also get the right to make a spin-off movie from the fantasy series.

"The Lord of the Rings is a cultural phenomenon that has captured the imagination of fans of various generations, through literature and also cinema," said Sharong Tal Yguado, Head of Scripted Series, Amazon Studios.
"We are proud to work with Tolkien Estate and Trust, HarperCollins and New Line in this exciting collaboration to make this TV series and we look forward to bringing The Lord of the Rings fans to a new adventure in Middle Earth."

Amazon did not get the rights to "The Silmarillion", a third work from Tolkien who also told about Middle Earth and published after the author's death.

The development of Lord of the Rings as a TV series was an attempt by Amazon to realize Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos's request. They want to be able to find similar TV series Game of Thrones that managed to get fans from all over the world.
